A local ranch that is helping veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, urges more vets to take advantage of the program.
Over the past 3 years, about 2 dozens veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan finished the 8 week program at Blended Spirits Ranch in Fairview.
The ranch takes in unwanted, abused and neglected horses.
The military veterans develop a bond with the horses becoming more patient and less anxious and stressed.
Army National Guard veteran Tim Crowley said, "I feel a lot different now. I could not control my emotions. My anger was getting out of check. My anxiety was through the roof. Coming in and working with the horses really helped me learn to manage that and work around the issue."
The ranch is able to provide the program with donations from the Erie Vet Center, American Legion Post 773 and the community.
