POW/MIA 24-Hour Vigil and Ride for Freedom |

September 15 to 16, Veterans of Foreign War, Inc Post #52 and the Welcome Home Association are sponsoring a POW/MIA 24-Hour Vigil to honor all POW/MIA's from ALL wars. On Friday, September 15, a candle lighting ceremony will begin at 8:00 pm at the Crawford County Veterans' Memorial, located in Diamond Park, Meadville, PA. The candle lihgting ceremony will be conducted for those still listed as POW/MIA. The Ride for Freedom will occur on Saturday, September 16. Registration will start at noon at Walt's Tavern in Conneaut Lake (Hwy 618) with departure at 3:00 pm sharp. The route will be Rt. 618 to Rt. 322 to Park Avenue, right onto Chestnut Street and into Diamond Park, Meadville, coming in on the Memorial Side. This will be a "slow," uninterrupted ride with polkice escort to honor and pay tribute to our POW/MIA's from all wars.
