The Erie VA Medical Center and VA Community Clinics will be hosting flu clinics to provide free flu shots to Veterans. Veterans must be eligible for VA health care to receive free flu shots. PA State Representative Curt Sonney will be hosting his annual Corry Senior Expo on Friday, September 8th, from 10:00 am to noon at the Corry Community Center (15 South First Avenue, Corry, PA). Vendors from state agencies, local governments, businesses, health care organizations and nonprofits will be present to provide information and answer questions. On August 28 from 9 am to noon, Rep. Bizzarro will be holding his annual Senior Fair & Older Living Expo at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, located at 301 Peninsula Drive, Erie. The event is free and directed toward residents 60 or older. There will be health screenings, flu shots, light refreshments, veterans' benefits information, and information about state and local resources. The DMVA Outreach Team will be on-site. On August 26 at noon, Warren County United Veterans Council is hosting the Warren County Veterans Family Summer Picnic at Wilder Field. Free admittance to all vets of the county and their household residents. There will be lunch, music, and a bounce house! RSVP to (814) 688-8009.

On August 26th from 8am-5pm at the Pfeiffer-Burleigh playground, MMLB (Michael Makes Lives Better) will be giving free haircuts to children preschool to college age to get ready for back to school time. School Supplies will also be given out.

On August 12 from 1 pm to 7pm, the 2nd Annual Four Seasons Farm Old Fashioned Picnic Benefit will provide fun for the whole family, including a corn hole tournament! Proceeds will benefit the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Admission is free. Corn hole tournament registration is $50 per team. On August 25 from 11am-5pm at the John F. Kennedy Center (2021 E 20^th St, Erie, PA 16510), MMLB is holding a family resource fair. Over 50 local social services agencies are expected to attend, and free medical screenings will be available. Bring the kids!

University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine is hosting a FREE dental event for veterans in Mayville, NY (approximately 45 minutes from Erie). The UB S-Miles To Go Dental Van will be parked at the Mayville VFW (10 Memorial Drive, Mayville, NY) on September 5th-8th and the 11th from 9am-3pm. On August 11th, NFI Empire will be hosting "VMCE Change a Life" Veterans Car & Bike Cruise-In to benefit Veteran Miracle Center Erie. The cruise-in will be located at the VCME (1573 W 39th St, Erie, PA). There will be 50/50, silent auction, and music by the Que Abides, EMS Mobile DJ Service and DJ Brian Shank. They ask for a donation at admission.
